Shaw-Lumb family letters, 1845-1911.

Transcribed correspondence of the Shaw and Lumb families of Halifax and Yorkshire Counties, England, as well as Chicago, Ill. and Wisconsin. The letters cover a wide range of topics, including religion, trips to America, and living conditions in England. They were compiled ca. 1942 by Jessie Perham, the great-grandson of Lewis Lumb of Ripponden, Halifax County, England, whose letters to his children in America make up part of the collection. Perham includes a short introduction for family members and indexes of names and places mentioned in the letters.
